I have been so busy composing new music and creating piano arrangements that I haven't posted a piano blog in quite a while! This piece, called "Uvey," is from the Turkish Drama series called Istanbullu Gelin (Bride of Istanbul), starring Ozcan Deniz and Asli Enver. Sureyya, a musician, falls in love with and marries the eldest son, Faruk, from the wealthy and renowned Boran family of Bursa. She and the Boran family face joys and hardships as the family's secrets are gradually uncovered. The music in this series, all composed by Cem Tuncer and Ecrument Orkut, is beautiful. Below is the original recording of Uvey as presented in the series. It is a melancholy piece with primarily strings and a hauntingly beautiful vocal portion. And here is my piano arrangement recording: And below is the score of my arrangement (a big thank you to Roxana Belibou for scoring my arrangement): As always, thank you so much for listening to my arrangement. I hope you enjoyed it! If you are interested in signing up for my art/piano arrangement newsletter, please click here to be directed to my website homepage where you may sign up. I fell in love with this hauntingly beautiful tune with Turkish instruments and vocals called, "Sil Bastan," by Turkish artist Sebnem Ferah, while watching the Turkish drama series "Hercai." Hercai is about star-crossed lovers Miran (played by Akin Akinozu) and Reyyan (played by Ebru Sahin). It is a story of revenge, forgiveness and the power of love. Here is the original tune as sung by Sebnem Ferah and found on YouTube: And here is my own piano arrangement of the tune (also posted on YouTube): And for those of you who might be interested in playing my arrangement, here is the score (which was done by Roxana Elena Belibou who is on YouTube): I hope you enjoyed it! This is one of my personal favorites of my piano arrangements. The tune is called "Distant Lives" composed by Adrian Johnston for the film, "Becoming Jane." The movie is about Jane Austen and the romantic relationship that helped inspire some of her novels. It stars Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy. Here is the original tune as played in the movie (found on YouTube): And here is my piano arrangement inspired by the tune (also posted on YouTube): And for those of you interested in playing this arrangement, here is the score (Roxana Eleni Belibou, who I found on YouTube, scored it for me): I hope you enjoyed it! I totally fell in love with this beautiful and haunting tune by Turkish artist Tugkan when I was watching the Turkish Romantic Comedy series called, "Erkenci Kus," (Early Bird). The series, which stars Can Yaman and Demet Ozdemir, is certainly worth a watch as the couple has tremendous romantic chemistry and even fell in love in real life while filming this series. This tune plays a couple of times in the series, but most struck me when it was playing in the background during a very romantic scene in which he expresses very how he has fallen in love with her. Here is the beautiful original of this tune with vocals by Tugkan and played on guitar (from YouTube): Here is a 7 minute clip from the series from YouTube (with English subtitles) that shows the build up to the scene and the music which comes in at 3 minutes and 40 seconds into the clip. When you press on it, due to copyright issues, it will say "video unavailable." However, if you click on "Watch on YouTube" and it will direct you there where you can watch it: And here is my piano arrangement of the song (also posted on YouTube): And for those of you who might be interested in playing my arrangement here is the score (the score was done by Roxana Elena Belibou who is also on YouTube): I hope you enjoyed it! I watch a lot of Turkish drama series and visited Turkey in September 2019. This has opened up a whole new world for me in terms of interest in music, culture and food. I found this wonderful traditional Turkish tune from the Turcan region of Turkey while searching music on iTunes. The rendition that most inspired me is the fast and upbeat instrumental version by Taner Demiralp and Ahmet Yildiz which is played on a saz, a Turkish type of guitar, and some other background instruments including keyboard. It is featured on their album Baglama. Unfortunately I could not find that version on YouTube to post here (but did find it in iTunes). Here is a slower vocal version of it by Zara that I also love: And here is my much quicker paced piano version (posted on YouTube, where you can subscribe to my channel): And for those of you interested in playing this arrangement, here is the score (Roxana Elena Belibou, who I found on YouTube, scored it for me): I hope you enjoyed it! This tune was composed by Toygar Isikli for the 2019 Turkish drama series, "Kuzgun," (The Raven) starring Baris Arduc and Burcu Biricek. It is a story of revenge and redemption and the power of love. Here is the original tune (from YouTube): And here is my piano arrangement (posted on YouTube-click here to subscribe to my channel) which I hope to have scored soon and be able to post as well: If you are interested in playing this arrangement, here is the score for it (Roxana Elena Belibou, who I found on YouTube, scored it for me): I hope you enjoyed it! This tune, "Kokun Hala Tenimde" was composed by Toygar Isikli for the Turkish drama series, "Kara Sevda," (translated by many as Endless Love) about star-crossed lovers in modern-day Istanbul. The series aired in Turkey from 2015-2017 and won several awards. It stars Burak Ozcivit and Neslihan Artugul as the lovers. This piano arrangement was created through an informal collaboration between myself and Roxana Elena Belibou who I found on YouTube (please make sure to check out her site on YouTube! She is a very talented pianist and has created a plethora of her own piano arrangements). I had asked her to create a score of the tune and then after I received it, I altered half of it, so this is the amalgam of our two efforts. Roxana then rewrote the score for me to reflect the changes! Here is the original tune from the series from YouTube, which inspired the piano arrangement: And here is our piano arrangement (this is posted on YouTube): And for those of you who may be interested in playing this rendition, here is the score: I hope you enjoyed it! During this National Emergency due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, I am back to focusing on my piano to provide some beauty to others and to manage my own stress! I am thankful that I am able to isolate within my own Victorian home with my husband and daughter (who returned from college and is taking classes on-line). I hope that you are all safe and healthy! The following is my own piano arrangement of one of the theme songs from the Turkish romance drama series, "Hercai." The piece is called "Duygusal" and is composed by Ender Gunduzlu and Metin Arigul. The series, about star-crossed lovers, stars Akin Akinozu and Ebru Sahir. Here is the original tune from the series that inspired my arrangement (from YouTube): And here is my rendition: And here is the score for my piano arrangement in case you want to play it! Thanks to Roxana Elena Belibou for scoring it and saving me lots of time!!! I hope you enjoyed it and thank you for listening! I highly recommend the movie, "Suite Francaise," (meaning French Suite) currently available on Netflix and starring Michelle Williams, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Kristin Scott Thomas. It is a moving WWII drama about star-crossed lovers during the Nazi occupation of Bussy, France. The music, by Rael Jones, is beautiful. The movie is based on the planned sequence of 5 novels by Irene Nemirovsky, a French writer of Ukrainian-Jewish origin. In July 1942, having just completed the first two of the series, Ms. Nemirovsky was arrested as a Jew and detained at Pithiviers and then Auschwitz, where she was murdered as a victim of the Holocaust.. The notebook containing the two novels was preserved in a suitcase by her daughters but not examined until 1998. They were then published in a single volume entitled Suite Francaise in 2004, and then made into a movie in 2015. Here is the original tune "I Am Free" from the movie as posted on YouTube: Here is Mercuziopianist's piano score of "I Am Free," from YouTube: And this is my piano arrangement which incorporates elements of Mercuzio's much more complex composition: And if you are interested in playing this arrangement, here is the score (Roxana Elena Belibou who you can find on YouTube, scored it for me): Thank you so much for listening! This is my piano arrangement of a second piece from the Turkish Drama Series, Cezur ve Guzel (meaning Brave and Beautiful), starring Kivanc Tatlitug and Tuba Buyukustun. The tune is called, "Aci Ask/Suhan" and is by Toygar Isikli, a prolific contemporary Turkish composer. The series synopsis: Cesur comes back to Korludag, a small town outside of Istanbul, to seek revenge for his father's murder. What he doesn't count on is falling in love with his enemy's daughter, Suhan! Here is the original song from the soundtrack as posted on YouTube: Here I am playing my piano arrangement of the tune (also posted on YouTube): If you are interested in playing my arrangement, here is the score (I had Roxana Belibou from Romania, also on YouTube, score this for me): Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my arrangement!
